On Tuesday, January 20, Lily’s Road will host its 2nd Annual Ski Movie Night Fundraiser at Wayland Brewing Company in Orchard Park. The community-focused event will feature a ski film screening of Teton Gravity Research’s newest film Pressure Drop, a silent auction filled with local and national businesses, local vendors, and a photo booth by Max Collins.
This event will provide opportunities to connect and support inclusive programs that create meaningful experiences for children and adults with unique needs. All proceeds from the evening will benefit Holiday Valleys Lounsbury Adaptive Ski Program, helping expand access, confidence, and community for individuals of all abilities on the ski slopes.
“Our foundation Lily’s Road was started with a mission to create meaningful opportunities for children and adults with special needs and foster a community rooted in inclusivity, love, hope, and support,” said Laird Robertson. “It began from our own journey as parents – myself, along with my wife, Elena Robertson. When our daughter, Lily Rode, was born 2 years ago with a rare neurological condition we quickly learned how isolating and overwhelming that road can feel. We wanted to create something that turns that experience into hope, access, community, and opportunity for other families on similar paths. Skiing and being outside during the winter months, feeling the freedom of the hills and creating long lasting memories, has always been something we’ve valued and we wanted to make sure everyone can share that feeling no matter what.
“This event is about more than fundraising. It’s about bringing people together to build a community where inclusion isn’t an afterthought, it’s the foundation. It’s been incredible to see all of the community support since our first Fundraiser last year where we helped raise over $8,500 for the Adaptive Program at Kissing Bridge. These funds help create real, meaningful opportunities for children and adults with unique needs, while reminding families that they are supported. As parents, we’ve seen firsthand how powerful support and access can be. This foundation is our way of turning that love and hope into action for other families.”
All proceeds benefit the Lounsbury Adaptive Ski Program at Holiday Valley, a non profit program who’s mission is to help individuals with disabilities access adaptive skiing, specialized equipment, and inclusive on-snow experiences.
